This is a frame from the lowly "LoMo" plastic camera that captures 4 images at a time, each a little bit "off". The result is always something charmingly awful.

This and the photo before are scans of Poloroids, a medium that I liked quite a lot when it was available. The dyes were very pliable for a period of time after the little plastic sandwich, which was the image and the container of chemicals inside the delivered frame of the image, could be moved around with you fingers. The results were unpredicable, but always fun.

She said: "I remember things, events, that never happened. It's like some kind of sixth sense or something; like looking into a future that never comes around. This "talent" or whatever you want to call it wouldn't be a problem if the memories were not so detailed and so real. It is sometimes a cause for embarrassment when I recall a sunny afternoon in Paris with a friend and that friend let's me know that he has never been in Paris; that it must be someone else I'm thinking of. Its like waking up with a vivid dream still playing out in your head and it keeps on playing out while you are awake. I have this whole other life that I am living that I think that I share with the people I know and love, but really I'm not because this dream world that is so real to me is only for me for some reason. Its like being the only person to be able read your handwriting. And its like always being alone."

He said: "You know, a lot of people are very good at what they do. They work hard at it and over a long period of time they get real good at the one thing they like to do. Me, I'm not like that. I'm all over the place, I guess you'd have to say. I do a little of this and a little of that and at the end of the day, I'm satisfied usually. I can't say that I'm really good at anything in particular, but I think I'm kind of good over a broad range of stuff. At lease, good enough for me. I admire the folks who are really focused and who are really good at the one thing that they love to do. Me, I'm different. I don't really have just one thing I do. Me, I'm focused elsewhere."

They weren't here because they wanted to be here; they were here because that had to be here. They were drawn to this place from various other places and like the flocks of insects and birds that fly tremendous distances because there is no other choice for them but to do so, the ones who came responded to a sound that couldn't be heard, or a feeling that couldn't be explained. They responded to a plan that was not their own. They came for the light and for the sound and for the chance meeting on a street or in a cafe with the others that they felt they somehow knew well, but couldn't say why or explain how they all met here, not as strangers, but as friends and lovers who were meeting for the very first time.
